Netherlands:

The Netherlands is the main constituent country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. It is a small, densely populated country, lying mainly in Western Europe, but also including three islands in the Caribbean. The European part of the Netherlands borders Germany to the east, Belgium to the south, and the North Sea to the northwest, sharing maritime borders with Belgium, the United Kingdom and Germany. The largest and most important cities in the Netherlands are Amsterdam, The Hague and Rotterdam. Amsterdam is the country's capital, while The Hague holds the Dutch seat of government and parliament. The port of Rotterdam is the largest port in Europe as large as the next three largest combined. 

The Netherlands' name literally means "Low Country", inspired by its low and flat geography, with only about 50% of its land exceeding one metre above sea level.

 Most of the areas below sea level are man-made. Since the late 16th century, large areas (polders) have beenreclaimed from the sea and from lakes, amounting to nearly 17% of the country's current land mass.

CELEBRITIES

—Robin Van Persie:

—Born on August 6, 1983, in Rotterdam, Netherlands, Robin van Persie began his professional soccer career with the local Feyenoord club. He blossomed with England's Arsenal F.C., and recovered from an ankle injury to lead the Dutch team to the final of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Van Persie the Dutch international scorer in 2013. 

—The third child of two artists, van Persie learned to play soccer in his ethnically diverse neighborhood of Kralingen. He joined the youth system of S.B.V. Excelsior shortly after his parents split when he was 5, eventually moving to rival Rotterdam club Feyenoord as a highly regarded teenage player.

—Van Persie was a U-21 international and took part in the 2004 and 2006 European Championship qualifying. Van Persie was used in a wider role as a left wing due to the preference of the experienced Klaas-Jan Huntelaar in the striker role.

Arjen Robben:

Arjen Robben (Bedum, Groninga, Netherlands; January 23, 1984) is a Dutch football player who playsof end. Nowadays milita in the Bayern of Munich of the Bundesliga of Germany. 

He married Bernadien Eillerton June 9, 2007 in Groningen after a relation of 7 years. They were known while they were studying in the secondary Heike Kamerlingh Onnes, of the locality.

 Between 150 present persons in the event there werete Czech doorman Petr Cech and the Danish mid-field player Dennis Rommedahl. After the ceremonythe grooms threw some white doves to the air. In 2004 it had a suspicious bundle that was needing intervention, though finally it did not redress any problem.

Amsterdam:

—What there is: The historic center of the city one of the largest in Europe, a series of semicircular canals around the old town houses and warehouses in a typical Dutch style.

—Places to visit: Anne Frank House, Rijksmuseum, Vondelpark, Rembrandt House Museum, Jordaan.

CITIES: Amsterdam.

—COUNTRY (LOCATION): The city is located between the IJ bay, north, and the banks of the Amstel River, southeast.

—POPULATION: It has a population of about 810,000 inhabitants in its metropolitan area home to about 1.5 million.

Rivers and Lakes:

  —The major rivers of the Netherlands are the Rhine, flo-wing from Germany, and its several arms, such as the Waal and Lek rivers; and the Maas (a branch of the Meuse) and the Schelde (Escaut), flowing from Belgium.

These rivers and their arms form the delta with its many islands. Together with numerous canals, the rivers give ships access to the interior of Europe.

 

In the northern and western portions of the Netherlands are many small lakes.Nearly all the larger natural lakes have been pumped dry, but the delta redevelopment  program and the reclamation of the Zuider Zee have created numerous new fresh waterlakes, the largest being the IJsselmeer.

CLIMATE:

The Netherlands shares the temperate maritime climate common to much of northern and western Europe.

The average temperature range in Vlissingenin the coastal region is 1° to 5° C (34° to 41° F) in January and 14° to 21° C (57° to 69° F) in July.

In,De Bilt,in the densely populated central region of the,country,  the average range is -1° to 4° C (31° to 40° F) in January and 13° to 22° C (55° to 72° F) in July. 

Annual precipitation averages 690 mm (27 in) in Vlissingen and 770 mm (30 in) in De Bilt. Cloudlessdays are uncommon, as is prolonged frost.

Because,the Netherlands has few natural barriers, such as highmountains, the climate varies little from region to region.

 Netherlands ended 2013 with a population of 16,802,000 people, which represents an increasea of 22,425 people compared to 2012. Netherlands is no.
 64 among the 184 countries.

Thefemale population is greater, with 8,473,073 women, representing 50.42% of the total, compared to 8,331,151 or 49.58% men. —Netherlands has a high population density, with 405 people per square km and it was in position 172th in our ranking of density population in 2013.

Neteherlands:

Fauna: — Wildlife, birds and fish abundance. More characteristic are fish herring, eel, smelt, mullet , sea bass, flounder and luciopercia.  The most commonbirds are the stock dove, blackheaded gull, commonswift, mallard ducks, heron, coot that nests in the vegetation on the banks of canals, tailed godwith, tufted duck, the typical Lap wing wet meadows and pastures.

—Flora: Multicolored flowers daffodils,  tulips , hyacinths.  

There are routes of bulbous flowers  between Haarlem and Leiden,  north of Hoorn, near Den Helder , Anna Paulowna and Breezand.

—There are about 300 varieties of tulips. On the otherside are the rhizomatous as dahlia and gladiolus. Other flowers include anemones , begonias,  lilies, freesiasand reeds that grow in the wild.
